Dansen har momentum i Danmark og nu har du muligheden for at blive direktør og kunstnerisk leder for nationalscenen for samtidsdans og koreografi. 

Dansehallerne har til huse i den nyrenoverede smukke industribygning Kedelhuset, centralt beliggende i Københavns historiske kvarter Carlsberg Byen. Du kommer til på et vigtigt tidspunkt, hvor dansen skal nå endnu længere ud til et bredere publikum, og hvor Dansehallernes økonomi skal styrkes væsentligt for at kunne indfri ambitionerne. 

Som Dansehallernes nye direktør og kunstneriske leder bliver du overordnet ansvarlig for den kunstneriske og den administrative del af organisationen. 

Som direktør er du leder af en mindre organisation med 16 ansatte, og det er dig, der udstikker en fælles retning og fastlægger de organisatoriske rammer. Dansehallernes økonomi består af bidrag fra Københavns Kommune, Kulturministeriet og fondsbidrag, men Dansehallerne drømmer større, end hvad indtægterne dækker, og derfor er en central del af den nye direktørs opgave at skabe et solidt og stærkere økonomisk grundlag gennem bl.a. øget fundraising og flere publikumsindtægter, så Dansehallernes strategi kan blive til virkelighed. 

Som kunstnerisk leder evner du at skabe en organisation, der opnår kunstnerisk indflydelse nationalt og internationalt. Du står i spidsen for at kuratere forestillinger og designe et visionært og nuanceret sæsonprogram, der taler til og kan bevæge et bredt publikum.

Det er derfor essentielt, at du har blik for såvel det administrative som det kunstneriske, og at du formår at prioritere mellem økonomiske realiteter og kunstneriske mål. 

De væsentligste opgaver i stillingen vil være at: 

• Gå forrest i det strategiske og kunstneriske lederskab
• Fastholde og videreudvikle Dansehallerne som et nationalt kraftcenter og scene for samtidsdans og koreografi
• Prioritere hårdt mellem drift, udvikling og kunstneriske ambitioner
• Øge bevidstheden om samtidsdans og koreografi nationalt
• Øge indtægterne ved at skrue på eksisterende muligheder eller gå nye veje
• Sikre partnerskaber indenfor dans og koreografi lokalt, nationalt og internationalt
• Bevare og sikre den nuværende kvalitet og udvikle kunstformen løbende
• Sikre at Dansehallerne er et levende hus, hvor besøgende får en unik og stærk kulturel oplevelse.

Dansehallerne forventer, at du har indgående kendskab til kunstformen samtidsdans, og at du har ledelseserfaring. Du har desuden strategisk og økonomisk forståelse. 

Som leder er du synlig og inddragende, du tør tage chancer, du er nysgerrig og kreativ og kan se muligheder, hvor andre måske ser begrænsninger.

Would you like to develop Dansehallerne as a powerhouse for contemporary dance in Denmark? Are you able to balance the artistic and the strategic without compromising either? And can you build a solid financial foundation that enables Dansehallerne to realise its ambitions? Then you may be Dansehallerne’s new Executive and Artistic Director.

Dance is gaining momentum in Denmark, and you now have the opportunity to become Executive and Artistic Director of the national stage for contemporary dance and choreography.

Dansehallerne is based in Kedelhuset, a beautiful, newly renovated industrial building centrally located in Copenhagen’s historic Carlsberg City District. You will join the organisation at an important time, where dance is to reach an even wider audience, and where Dansehallerne’s financial foundation must be strengthened significantly in order to fulfil its ambitions.

As Dansehallerne’s new Executive and Artistic Director, you will have overall responsibility for both the artistic and administrative sides of the organisation.

As Executive Director, you will lead a smaller organisation of 16 employees, setting the overall direction and establishing the organisational framework. Dansehallerne’s finances consist of contributions from the City of Copenhagen, the Ministry of Culture, and private foundations. 

However, Dansehallerne’s ambitions exceed its current revenue base, and a central task for the new Executive Director will therefore be to create a more solid and stronger financial foundation through, among other things, increased fundraising, and higher audience revenue, enabling Dansehallerne’s strategy to become a reality.

As Artistic Director, you will be able to create an organisation that achieves artistic influence nationally and internationally. You will lead the curation of performances and design a visionary and nuanced seasonal programme that speaks to and moves a broad audience.

It is therefore essential that you have a strong understanding of both the administrative and the artistic dimensions of the role, and that you are able to prioritise between financial realities and artistic ambitions.

The key responsibilities of the position will be to:

• Lead the strategic and artistic direction
• Maintain and further develop Dansehallerne as a national powerhouse and stage for contemporary dance and choreography
• Make clear priorities between operations, development and artistic ambitions
• Raise national awareness of contemporary dance and choreography
• Increase revenue by optimising existing opportunities or exploring new avenues
• Secure partnerships within dance and choreography locally, nationally, and internationally
• Maintain and safeguard the current level of quality while continuously developing the art form
• Ensure that Dansehallerne is a vibrant cultural venue where visitors have a unique and powerful cultural experience 

Dansehallerne expects you to have in-depth knowledge of contemporary dance as an art form, as well as management experience. You also have strategic and financial insight.

As a leader, you are visible and inclusive. You are willing to take risks, you are curious and creative, and you are able to see opportunities where others may see limitations.
